3 Ways to Build Quality Incoming Links…

There are many ways to get incoming links to your website.  In this article I am going to discuss the best ways to do so.  But first, let me explain why you even want to do this.

The reason for getting incoming links to your site is to 1) Drive traffic to your site.  2) Index your site higher in the search engines.  3) Establish yourself or your site as an authority and most important 4) To generate revenue for your business.

Now that you know why you need to build incoming links to your site, let’s discuss how to do so in the most efficient manner.

The first way to build quality links to your site is through original content.  The best way to do this is to write articles geared to your particular market.  Now  I realize that many people are not great at writing articles.  You don’t have to be.  You can use this great piece of software, Instant Article Writer or you can have someone write articles for you.

There are many places to go and have articles written for you.  You can go to elance.com or guru.com and find individuals for a small fee to write wonderful and original content on any subject.  Tip:  For search engine purposes try and choose a keyword or two and have it sprinkled throughout your article.  For example your keyword could be “grow tomatoes”.

After you have your articles written or have them done for you, you first need to publish them on your site or blog.  Set up an articles page on your site if you don’t have a blog and put them up.  Tip: let’s say your site is about gardening.  Build a page on your site entitled articles, it should look like this: yoursite.com/articles.html.

Now, on your new articles page create a link from there with the title of your article.  So let’s say your article title is, “5 Ways to Grow Tomatoes”.   Your page for this particular article should look like this: yoursite.com/articles/5-ways-to-grow-tomatoes.html.  Notice how your keyword is in the URL and Title.  When someone searches for “grow tomatoes” in a search engine your article will have a great chance of coming up near the top of the listings.

After you have successfully posted your article to your site or blog you now want to submit your article to article directories.  I highly recommend ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, buzzle.com and ideamarketers.com.  You can find software do this for you.  I recommend a great piece of software located here Article Submitter.

Now that you have submitted your article(s) you now want to focus on directory submission.  Directory submission is the next way to build incoming links to your site.  This is pretty straight forward.  You simply find directories and submit a link to your site.  To do this go to any search engine and type in “submit to directory” or “submit url to directory”.  You will find plenty of directories to submit to.  You can also find software to do this for you.  I use Directory Submitter for this job.  Tip:  When submitting your link to directories make sure you have keywords you want to be listed for chosen and a description of your site.

Let’s take the gardening example from above and apply it here.  This is how your submission should look in this example.

Title: Gardening - Home Gardening - Develop Your Garden
URL: yoursite.com
Description:  We’ll show you how easy gardening can be.  Use our tips to develop your home garden into a masterpiece.
Keywords: gardening, home gardening, develop your garden

Notice how I used the keywords in the title and description of this example site.  This is something you will want to do as well.  This is a big plus in getting your site indexed in the search engines highly.

Finally, one more way to get incoming links to your site is through reciprocal link exchanges.  This is basically trading links with other sites.  Before you start you will want to set up a directory page on your site to host links from other sites.  The url would look something like this: yoursite.com/directory.html.  Tip: try and trade links with other sites who are related to yours.

Let’s use our example from above, gardening.  You will want to search out trades with other sites related to gardening like planting or xeroscaping.  This will build your sites reputation and relevancy in the search engines.

There are many places to find others willing to exchange links with you.  I would suggest going to linkmetro.com and linkmarket.net.  These are very reputable link exchange sites.  Tip:  When exchanging links with others make sure you use the keywords you want to rank for in your title and description like the example above.

Building incoming links to your site is a fantastic way to generate traffic and income.  Yes, it can take a lot of work but it is well worth it.  To help automate the process a little more I suggest using these tools: Article Submitter for article submission, Directory Submitter for directory submission, Auto Link Exchanger for developing pages in your link exchanging efforts and Instant Article Writer for writing your own articles.
