This free blogging software is very user friendly and you can be up and running in no time at all. Blogger is owned by google and therefore it is very easy to setup your Google Ad sense advertisements as well.
The only downside with Blogger is that it is usually hosted on the company servers. This is usually not a problem, but I have heard stories where people have been closed down for alleged abuse issues and they have lost their data.

This software is fantastic and has a wide support base among the blogging community. There are also a lot of useful plugins available to you for free. You can also download themes to change the look and feel of your wordpress blog.
Some of these themes are free and you will have to pay for others. But it is a quick way to give your blog a professional appearance.
You can also design your own individual themes if you so desire, but this will require a little bit of technical knowledge and is not for the faint hearted. There are also people on the internet that will design your custom wordpress theme for a fee. You can choose between hosting your wordpress blog on your own server, or you can choose to have it hosted for free at wordpress.com.
